NIKI
GEE

Words are energy. Words are magic.
Words create vibrational shifts — spells every time we utter them.

Niki Gee

The Peace & Love Poet from Englewood

Niki Gee is a playwright, poet, spoken word performer, songwriter, host, and actress rooted in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood. Known as the Peace and Love Poet, she has graced stages across the country — from the Goodman Stage to PrideFest to the OutMusic Awards NYC — with a presence that is spontaneous, powerful, and deeply human.

Her work spans the full spectrum: from intimate theatre to house music played in clubs around the world, from inspiring to provocative, from the page to the stage. With a golden voice and an unmistakable energy, she has appeared in independent films, hosted beloved Chicago spoken word institutions, and been recognized as a Chicago Sky Redefine Possible Women's Award winner.

As a playwright, her works explore the complexities of Black womanhood, queer identity, love, loss, and liberation. As a poet, she writes spells. As a performer, she transforms rooms.

"I'm using my power for good not evil.
What are you using your words for?"

The Pansophy Project

In Conversation with Nikki Giovanni

Through her celebrated internet radio show The Pansophy Project, Niki Gee created a space where Black artistic lineage could breathe. One of its most profound moments: a visit from the legendary poet Nikki Giovanni, who came in honor of her dear friend Oscar Brown Jr., as Chicago performer Morris Gearing shared his one-man tribute to the iconic artist.

Three generations of Black artistry in one room — and Niki Gee built the table.

Meet Ikin Eeg

Niki Gee doesn't do one thing. She does all the things — and does them all the way.

Ikin Eeg is her masculine performance persona, brought fully to life for events like Queer Lines at the Chicago Art Department — drag kings, poetry, and live music on one stage. Bowler hat. Full beard. Hands in pockets. Not scared.

From lace dresses on the Goodman Stage to a three-piece at Queer Lines, from house music to spoken word, from playwright to radio host — the range is the brand.
